Alternatives to iPad2 Alternatives to iPad2(0)

Apple’s iPad2 can be considered the market leader when it comes to Tablet PCs. However, the competition is not entirely dry and there are other similar products which can challenge the monopoly of iPad2 in near future. Some of the noteworthy rivals of iPad2 are as follows:

HP TouchPad: This product which will be launched on 1st July is expected to be a sound competitor due to its attractive features such as ability to tap an HP smartphone against it to transfer content. An improved version of WebOS and fine ability of multitasking are additional features.

RIM BlackBerry PlayBook: While this might not be the best product for common consumers, it certainly has a clear advantage when it comes to the corporate. The device works great in integration with blackberry smart phone and good thing is its 7-inch display which is less compared to other Tablet PCs.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: With all the amazing features, this is perhaps the most anticipated device released this year. Most distinguished among all Android Tablets, it has a 10.1 display which is slightly bigger than iPad2 and can be perfect for movies and gaming purposes.

Apple MacBook Air: Lightweight and thin footprint are noteworthy features of this product. An access to Apple’s app store is also integrated and multitouch feature also seems to be pretty attractive. This is particularly attractive for those who prefer hand-on functionality.

Sony S1: With a 9.4-inch screen and Android OS, Sony S1 is also a valid alternative for iPad2. Qriocity music and movie service are among the distinguished features of this product, which also has an access to PlayStation suite.

Sony S2: A unique introduction to Tablet market is Sony S2 which contains two 5.5-inch screens with an option to be used together or separately. Clamshell design of the device facilitates easy mobility.

Apple iPhone4: iPhone4 can used along with iPad2 but many people buy iPhone 4 as an alternative to iPad 2 since it has the same operating system, touchscreen functionality as well as applications. In certain cases such as making calls, it even has an edge over iPad2.

HP Pavilion Laptop: 13.3 inch screen and Windows 7 make this device pretty attractive and light weight alternative for iPad2. Both from the hardware and software perspectives, it has a clear edge over iPad2. Contrast its 320 GB of storage with iPad’s 16 GB while the price is same, that is, $499.99.

Toshiba Thrive: This device would come with a 10.10inch display with Android 3.1. With front and rear end cameras, this device offers almost all features of iPad2. Its price, however, is less compared to iPad2, being $479.99 for a 16 GB device.

Samsung Series 5 Chromebook: This is also a pretty lightweight device, although many people might not find it a valid alternative to iPad2. But the device is nonetheless very economical as well as mobile.

It’s your choice, feel free to choose!

Will the upcoming HP Touchpad price be same as iPad’s? Will the upcoming HP Touchpad price be same as iPad’s?(1)

The Hewlett-Packard Company commonly referred to as HP, will be unveiling its HP Touchpad Tablet this summer with the price reportedly matching to Apple Inc.’s iPad.

Rumour has it that an informer has seen the product for sale in Wal-Mart’s inventory system. Furthermore, a screenshot from the informer displaying a 32GB version of the HP Touchpad price worth $599.99, which is exactly equal to the 32GB version of the iPad.

Aside from the 32GB adaptation, HP will most likely release a 16GB edition of the HP Touchpad which will both probably be set into the wild this June. There has not yet been any news though if the 16GB HP Touchpad will be priced the same as the $499 16GB iPad.

Not to mention that Wal-Mart is the nation’s biggest retailer, HP may possibly lead on the course of a number of Android opponents and RIM giving credit to HP’s retail strength. Attributing to the company’s PC and printer business, HP inherently takes control of the 8% of all shelf space in consumer electronic stores.

Apparently designed to compete the iPad, the HP Touchpad technical specifications are quite impressive taking into the highlight a new level of synergy with its Web OS 3.0 platform and a 1.2 GHz Snap dragon CPU. The goal of linking a wide family of HP products through the existing best mobile experience is now attainable through the power of HP Touchpad. Much as it offers various amazing features, people who buy HP Touchpad can enjoy an excellent companion by staying connected 24/7 via email, SMS, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, and many more.

For those who are urging to buy HP Touchpad and experience the maximum capability of its outstanding features, well, you just have to wait until the new innovation of HP is available. The HP Touchpad price and accessibility will be announced at a subsequent date. Only time will tell if the company can spark interest with the larger developer community.

Different Tablet PCs Different Tablet PCs(1)

The second innovation from Apple in Tablet PC industry that defined the genre is Apple’s iPad2. The advanteges of this  tablet is that it is more faster, lighter and runs better than its predecessor. Apple generator aimed to keep the iPad 2 simple – small icons aren’t welcome on a tablet  because you have to control it with your blunt  fleshy fingers.

The price  is one of the most impressive things about iPad2. Unlike initial Ipad which did not have cameras iPad 2 is equipped with two cameras; the rear one for capturing videos and the front camera for video chat.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 is one of the first tablets to run Google’s Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system. The most incredible thing about Acer Inconia is that its not a tablet its not a laptop  it’s a tablet with a power of a laptop. Acer Iconia’s innovative dual-touch screen design and virtual keyboard work better than you’d expect  and unlike other dual-screen PCs we’ve seen  this one has enough CPU power for everyday tasks.

HP TouchPad is a a tablet which packs a host of key advantages designed to sway tablet customers away from the market leader. The HP TouchPad is expected this year and will impress with its features. TouchPad has a 9.7-inch display at 1 024 * 768 pixels similar with the iPad. When it comes to processor TouchPad is slightly ahead with a Qualcomm 1.2 GHz processor and has 1GB of RAM. It has web OS 3.0 as its operating system and is equipped with a front facing camera. Most existing applications can be found in HP’s App Catalogue (its version of the App Store). HP TouchPad is not available yet. Tablets For You will come with a complet review when it’s launched.

All of these tablets are reasonable-priced, highly designed and look great on anyone’s desk or in the airline lounge, but these are not the only reasons for you to buy a Tablet PC.

Samsung wants 8.9-inch market as well Samsung wants 8.9-inch market as well(1)

What’s your tab life? Samsung asks on Facebook.  The question is in fact an invitation to the press event Samsung is holding in Orlando on March 22nd, this year. The answer - 78910 could be in fact the screen sizes of the 3 tablets they plan. After the 7-incher available in stores and the announced 10-incher, the 8.9-inch tablet is now in the lime light for Samsung.

The Koreans have designed the 7-inch Galaxy Tab to compete with HTC Flyer and BlackBerry Playbook and Galaxy Tab 10.1 as competitor for iPad 2, Motorola Xoom and HP Touchpad.

Still, there is LG on the market with a tablet – LG G-Slate - which presents a compromise in size having 8.9 inch and the ability to capture and display 3D content.

It seems that Samsung believes in this display as well, since they will probably officially announce Galaxy Tab 8.9-inch in Orlando on March 22nd.

Last week, Lee Don-joo, Samsung VP announced that parts in Galaxy Tab 10.1 are inadequate compared to iPad 2′s size. They have redesigned their 10-inch product to overcome this.

We are looking forward to see if Samsung would be in the position to unveil Galaxy tab 10.1 this month in Orlando.

There were new expectations from the IT market. Manufactures brought new smartphones and over 100 tablets at this event.

Although it is expected a market at over 45 million this year and  Apple was the market leader in 2010 with close to 15 million sales on iPad, 2011 the competition will be stronger and Apple is definitely worried. The launch of iPad 2 is announced on 2nd of March and everyone is expecting a lot from it. One thing that Apple product is sure missing comparing with Galaxy Tab for example is the function to use the tablet as a mobile phone. From the software point of view Google created a platform that could run on almost all the tablets, Honeycomb, HP uses a very promising webOS and Windows is pushing fast Windows 7 for tablets. The battle will be probably between Apple and Google but HP Touchpad and Blackberry 4G Playbook are also very strong players.

What are tablets? What are tablets?(4)

A tablet is a portable personal computer larger than a phone or a PDA with a flat touchscreen and may use virtual keyboards and handwriting recognition for text input through this flat screen. The term tablet was first time used as a concept presented by Microsoft in 2001, but now there are tablets that are using another PC operating system.

All tablet personal computers are connecting wireless to Internet and local network, and some of them use mobile operator’s networks as well. Their software includes office suites, games, web browsers and a lot of applications.  What makes a tablet to be appreciated is the ability for the final user to install useful applications.  iPad is restricted in this sense and the manufacturer has to approve every soft the user wants to install.

I have selected bellow a few of most desired tablets in this moment on the market.

Apple IPad hit the market more than one year ago and since than they sold over 15 million pieces. even so the market is emerging and it is still place for Apple competition.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the probably best tablet running on android. Its superiority over other tablets comes from the design quality and from Android 3.0 Honeycomb, not seen on 7-inch Galaxy Tab.

Another tablet that will run an Android 3.0 Honeycomb is Motorola tablet. Motorola Xoom comes with a display of 10-inch and its upgrade-ability to LTE 4G makes from it a strong competitor for the other Android tablets.

LG G-Slate comes 8.9-inch, somewhere in between 7-inch and 10.1-inch models on the market until now. This could be very appreciated by the customers finding 7-inch display to small and 10-inch to difficult to carry. The fact that it runs on Windows 7 and has the ability tocapture and display it’s also something new in the tablet fray.

HTC Flyer debuted 2 weeks ago with a very good design thanks to quality materials. It comes with a screen of 7-inch what makes it portable.

HP has his own operating system called webOS. webOS is completelly different compared with Adroid, iOS or RIM. It runs on 10-inch HP Touchpad and probably on future tablets from HP.

These are a few major tablets that are now on market. There were over 100 tablets announced for 2011 and i’m strongly believe that they will change the way we are surfing the web.
