The limited space on 8 GB or 16 GB version of the new iPad can be a problem(0) While Apple fans are overall quite content with the new iPad, there are still many who prefer iPad 2. But regardless of the version, the limited space on 8 GB or 16 GB version of the new iPad can be problematic, particularly when you are traveling frequently. The Retina Display of the new iPad has turned many users from simple users to power users. People who previously used to only check mails and occasionally browse on their iPad now like to do much more things. Besides, the powerful processor of the new iPad, coupled with Retina Display, is a huge attraction for gamers. However, under such a situation, the 16 GB version can be quite a limitation and users indulging in too much use would certainly need to go for higher capacity version. There are many games and apps that exceed much more than 1 GB and a total memory of 16 GB seems next to nothing. Excessive use on 16 GB version would eventually force you to delete some of the previous content which you might not like. |

The updated features in iOS 6 would not be applicable on iPad 2(0) Bad news for the owners of iPad 2 and 3rd generation iPod touch: the updated features available in iOS 6, including Siri, would not be applicable on those devices. Apple has a sort of convention of supporting only the latest devices and this is exactly what has happened with the latest updated version of iOS. |

Pros and cons for buying the new iPad(0)
The new iPad from Apple has been here for some days now and it has been making a lot of headlines. While it isn’t exactly an all new product from Apple, it does come with upped specs, especially with that Retina display that has wooed many. While Apple has already shipped three million new iPad tablets within three days of launch, it’s time to see why you should or should not buy this tablet. Why you should buy it? The most significant feature and the first thing that you will notice the moment you lay your hands on the new iPad is its ultra-high, ultra-clear Retina display. With an A5X processor which supplements the tablet with quad-core graphics, you are able to get a very vivid tablet experience. Talk about having a true feel of gaming, surfing the web or watching movies. Also, the new iPad comes with iOS 5.1 which is incredibly refined and sleek. To put it in a few words, there are no glitches or breaks with this nifty piece of software. Also, Apple has been able to keep the battery life of the tablet constant even when all that power goes into juicing up the 2048 x 1536 display. That’s a real achievement although there have been indications that the new iPad gets more warm than iPad 2 when it is working. Finally, for those who have wanted an Apple tablet with high-speed 4G connection, the new iPad is their dreams come true. Why you should not buy it? One of the major down-sides of the new iPad is that although it furnishes the same battery time as iPad 2, it takes much, much longer to recharge. Also, as mentioned earlier, the new iPad warms up a lot more than iPad 2 and you may have to put it down at times, which is further exacerbated by the fact that it weighs more than iPad 2 and is thicker (essentially a departure from Steve Jobs’ philosophy of getting things only thinner). Moreover, whereas the new iPad does have a 5-megapixel camera which is really good, the front-facing camera still remains VGA. So if you were planning a FaceTime chat on the new iPad, that’s still going to be a poor experience. While you may be all prepped up to spend a solid $500 on this tablet, you may feel a little disappointed because essentially, the only thing that significantly stands the new iPad apart from iPad 2 is its Retina display – and that distinction blurs when you realize that iPad 2’s price is hovering near $350 since the launch of the new iPad. |

Apple is drastically lowering the price of the previous versions of iPad(0)
Now that the new iPad was released everyone would want to have it particularly when it is quite reasonably priced. But it seems that Apple would make sure that the older versions of iPad keep selling and for this, Apple is drastically lowering the price of the previous versions. During the last Apple event during which the new iPad was announced, it was also announced that Apple would continue the sale of the previous version of iPad on a lower price. Apparently this move was a result of the constantly increasing competition in the market of the mobile devices. |

Apple announced during the San Francisco event the release of new iPad(0)
Three main announcements that Apple made during the San Francisco event of Wednesday were the release of new iPad, which was of course the most important one, the release of updated version of Apple TV and a new version of iOS. This version of iPad would have no number or letter with it and would only be called iPad, which might seem a bit odd since we already have iPad 2 but then again, technical specs are more important than name itself and on this front this new device is pretty sound. The prefix “new” has been added just to distinguish this device from the previous versions since Apple would not terminate the sale of the previous versions, according to the official announcement. In an impressive move, Apple has also drastically reduced the price of the previous version of iPad, bringing it down to $399 from $499. So if your budget doesn’t allow you to purchase the latest model of the device, you can buy iPad 2 at a much lower price. Since the inception of the concept of tablet computers, Apple has been doing extremely well and according to Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, the company has sold more number of iPads than the computers sold by any other manufacturer in the world. This, on one hand, depicts the popularity of tablet computers and, on the other, shows the fame of iPads. In a sense, this is a post-PC revolution that has given an entirely new meaning to portable computing. |

The battery life of iPad 3 would be significantly longer than that of iPad 2(0)
From iPad 3 release date to the technical specifications and price of this remarkable piece of technology, everything is the part of rumors and wild guesses these days. But this is among the distinctive features of grand Apple products; they have a lot of hype and rumors surrounding them. There are a lot of photos of iPad 3 circulating over the internet. Some of them really seem to have some tint of reality while others seem to be just a flight of fancy. Recently, some new photographs of iPad 3 have emerged over the internet showing the internal structure of the famed device. Some internal hardware components of iPad 3 seem to be quite visible in this photograph. The most revealing aspect, however, was that the battery of the next version of iPad seems to be considerably larger than that of the previous version, which clearly indicates that the battery life of iPad 3 would be significantly longer than that of iPad 2. The internal structure of camera also seems to be different but it is quite difficult to infer the details about the camera just by seeing at the internal structure. There would also be some differences in the LCD of the device. As the iPad 3 release date is getting closer, such rumors and revealed inside details are increasingly appearing over the internet. We can’t say anything for sure about the authenticity of these details or the reliability of the resources. The rumor about the bigger battery life, however, makes perfect sense since what we are hearing is that iPad 3 would be equipped with the famed Retina Display and if it is true, it is certainly going to require a much powerful battery. Apple likes to keep things highly secret and we can know for sure about the hardware components and software specifications only after the device is actually released or officially announced by Apple. This is expected to happen some time in March, although no official release date of iPad 3 has been announced by Apple as yet. Previously, there were rumors that Apple might choose 24th of February to announce iPad 3 since that is the birthday of Steve Jobs but due to the problems in the manufacturing of the devices, this does not seem to be a very viable idea now. The release date of iPad 3 seems to be somewhere in the last weak of March. Lots of people are waiting the moment to buy iPad 3 and take benefit of its features. March it’s just around the corner. |

iOS Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2(0) Many people have been waiting for their iPhone 4S upgrades because of the jailbreak issue since no such facility was available as yet. Now, however, it seems that the wait is finally over and iOS 5 Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is just around the corner. This probable jailbreak has been made possible by Pod2g who has previously made possible the jailbreak of several previous Apple devices. So far, no viable method of jailbreak was available for devices running on A5 processors but with this news, those desperately waiting have seen a ray of hope. According to the latest tweet by pod2g, the possible jailbreak method might be released within a week. Particularly those users who are considering purchasing these devices would certainly be able to benefit from this development. Previously, there was another jailbreak method available for this purpose, but it was only applicable for the iOS 4 devices. This method, however, would be able to perform the task for all the second generation devices running iOS 5. So if you were delaying the purchase of iPhone 4S or iPad 2 because of the jailbreak issues, now is the time for you to go ahead and get what you wanted. |

WiFi or 3G for tablets?(0) According to some critics, 3G or 4G is not really necessary for tablet computers and WiFi is all what you need. However, there are others who disagree with this stance and consider 3G to be of crucial importance for use of tablet computers outside of the house. The important issue is that of price but there is not a huge difference between the price of a device supporting 3G and the one not supporting. At present, the total cost per year of using 1 GB data plan of Verizon Wireless on the iPad 2 is around $240 which, including the two year contract, amounts to about $600 for two years. This is quite reasonable and is perfectly fine if you can have an access to 3G which is a must have these days. The second problem that emerges with WiFi is that, although it is becoming more and more common, it is not available everywhere. Besides, it is also not always free and in the absence of it, you are quite helpless. This becomes even more important when you are in a car and travelling. When we compare the cost of WiFi hot spots with 3G access, we find that 3G is much more viable and practical compared to WiFi. Overall, the importance of 3G or 4G for a tablet cannot be overemphasized and any tablet supporting this technology has a clear edge over the others. |

Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch postponed in Australia(0)
The legal battle over the intellectual property that had commenced between Apple and Samsung a few months ago has now intensified. The newest episode in this regard is that Samsung has decided to postpone the release of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Originally, the event to launch the product was decided to be on 11th of August, 2011. But after some consideration, Samsung authorities decided to postpone the event for the time being. Not only this, most probably the other product which was to be released on the same day, GalTab 10.1 would also be postponed. According to the latest resources, GalTab 10.1 would be released in near future now, but the exact date of the release has not yet been announced. What the resources revealed more is that Samsung has recently reached an agreement with Apple by which Samsung would not release its Galaxy Tab in Australia. But to Apple’s utter chagrin, Samsung found the other way round and decided to release another product in close resemblance with Galaxy Tab. Although this was not the direct breach of the agreement, it certainly was a move that annoyed Apple. So after some more argument, Samsung has, for the time being, delayed the release of any of its tablet products in Australia. What happens in near future is yet to be decided. The battle started when Samsung released its Tablet earlier this year and especially, after the cover for the tablet was released which was exactly like iPad2’s cover in design. Although Samsung denies any allegations of copying, there is some close resemblance between iPad2 and Galaxy Tab when it comes to the technical specifications. In fact, in certain aspects such as camera, memory and display etc., Galaxy Tab has an edge over iPad2. Both products have almost similar prices so in the same price range it seems that Galaxy Tab has more to offer to the customers as compared to iPad2. Although the event for the release was cancelled, it by no means signifies that the release of the product has totally been cancelled. The release has merely been postponed and the product would most probably be released later this year. By then, the legal battle between Apple and Samsung would also, most probably, wither away and customers all over the world would be able to take a sigh of relief. For now, anticipating Australian fans would have to keep their fingers crossed for some time, probably not more than a few months. |
