Asus sold out in UK(2)
Asus, a giant Taiwanese manufacturer of world’s best selling PCs and 3rd largest producer of notebook, released its Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet in UK last April 6. The unveiling of this cheap Asus Eee Pad Transformer represents Asus’ competitive move following Apple’s iPad success in the market of mini-laptops.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer is powered by Android 3.0 Honeycomb with NVIDIA Tegra2 1.0GHz dual-core CPU. Android operating system supports fast web browsing; efficient computing functions and comes with pre-installed Polaris Office which allows viewing and editing of basic Microsoft files. Asus Eee Pad Transformer technical specifications strengthen its position in the Tablet PC market.
This cheap Asus Eee Pad Transformer is built with scratch resistant glass, for touchpad input, a 10.1 inch multi touch display and claimed to have a 178 degree viewing angle. This device can give users an instant cinema experience as it provides video playback coupled with 3D stereo with max bass response with SRS premium sound.
One major advantage of buying Asus Eee Pad Transformer is its optional keyboard dock. The main screen can be detached from the keyboard dock if users only want to play video or just read ebooks. Just dock onto the keyboard to turn this device into a regular laptop and expend the battery life with up to 6 hours.
Given the above features, the market’s warm response is no longer a surprise. Asus Eee Pad Transformer price ranges from £379 -£429.99, and varies according to the presence of keyboard dock and memory capacity between 16GB and 32GB.
According to Asus, potential buyers could avail themselves of their Eee Pad Transformer by visiting www.TabletsForU.com. Apple may be the first to introduce a Tablet PC, but Asus Eee Pad Transformer challenges iPad’s limitations in providing more choices to customers.

World′s Thinnest Tablets – Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 (8)
Launched today at the CTIA, the two Samsung Tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1″ and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9″ share quite a few similarities., the most notable of all, at first glance, is how thin they both are. To be more accurate, the new Samsung tablets are just .33-inches thick, which really puts the .34 -inch iPad in a less favorable light if you compare the two by their dimensions. Samsung really pushed it to be present today and present their new tablets, although incomplete, which explains why neither could even be powered on. Samsung officials state however that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will weigh 1.31 pounds, while Galaxy Tab 8.9 won’t be more than 1.03 pounds. According to specs, Samsung tablets 10.1 and 8.9 have microSD slots, 3.5mm headphone jacks, and SIM slots, even if they will both feature a WiFi version as well. Another similarity is in terms of camera characteristics, namely a 3 megapixel shooter with an LED flash on the back and a 2 megapixel lens on the front. That’s about it on the exterior. As for internal features, Galaxy Tabs will pack 1GHz dual-core processors – very likely Tegra 2 since all the Honeycomb tablets so far have used NVIDIA’s silicon, however this is a mere assumption, not to have been confirmed yet. One other aspect we learned about Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is sold with a 16GB or 32GB storage and a 6000mAH battery, while the 10.1 will be available also with both16GB and 32GB and with a 6860mAH cell. Updated: In the press release Samsung included also 64GB model for both tablets. Both tablets should provide 10 hours of video playback, according to producer.
