iPhone 5 would be unveiled during an Apple event on September 12 iPhone 5 would be unveiled during an Apple event on September 12(0)

According to the latest information from some of the most reliable industry sources, Apple would launch its iPhone and the highly anticipated mini iPad during two separate events this fall. The sources have even pin-pointed the exact dates, according to which the event unveiling the iPhone would come before the mini iPad event. iPhone 5 would be unveiled during an Apple event on September 12.
Sources have also revealed that the launch of mini iPad would be done after iPhone 5 has launched and is already on sale. The exact date of the event that would see the unveiling of the mini iPad, however, is not known as yet, even though the event would be held in October. It is quite understandable that Apple would reserve separate events for both these devices, considering that both of them happen to be blockbusters. Previously it was speculated that Apple might launch both these devices during the same event but according to reliable tech sources, this would be highly unlikely since releasing both devices during the same event would divide the separate attention which they would otherwise command.
According to John Gruber of Daring Fireball, Apple would not want the reviews of both iPhone and mini iPad appearing at the same time since this would divide the attention. Apple would clearly not want a new product from the company battling for top spots in the news coverage. So it makes perfect sense that Apple would reserve separate events for both these grand devices.
So it seems that the season just before holidays would be particularly very active for Apple. Two new major events announcing the launch of two major Apple devices is something that would certainly capture the limelight for a good while. But we do have expectations of major products from other tech giants: second generation version of Amazon Kindle Fire to name one. Whatever turn the situation takes, next few months would be very exciting for the fans of smart phones and tablets.
Apple has so far not released any official announcement endorsing or rejecting these rumors. This is quite expected since Apple likes to keep the announcements very secret till the last moment. To know about the actual situation, just keep your fingers crossed for a few weeks, or even less.

Samsung recently announced the 10.1 tablet version of its Samsung Galaxy Note. Important technical specs of the device include screen resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, 5 megapixel back end camera, 9 hours of battery life and the facility of microSD card for memory expansion. The device comes with an S Pen that would be used for jotting down notes anywhere and anytime. However, compared to the iPad, third party applications for the tablet are quite limited. The 16 GB version of the tablet has been priced at $499 while the 32 GB version would be available for $549.

Compared to Galaxy Note 10.1, the price of the new iPad starts at $499 for the 16 GB version and goes up to $699 for 64 GB version. It has a better resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels and has the same 5 megapixel rear end camera onboard. But iPad clearly has a much better access to third-party applications, other than Apple’s own wide range of apps from iTunes. The tablet also has support for 4G wireless broadband networks.

A while back, the second generation version of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was also launched. Price for this tablet happens to be $399 for 16 GB version which is quite reasonable. Important technical specs of the device include a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, 3 megapixel rear end camera and 11 hours of battery life. There is also a 7 inch version of the device available for $250. Although selection of third-party apps is not bad, it is still far from Apple’s iPad.

Finally there is Surface tablet from Microsoft which would be launched in a month or so. Details about the technical specs of the device have not been revealed as yet but initial reviews and expectations in the industry are quite high. Besides, this tablet would also be available in 128 GB version which does not exist with any other tablet. With the launch of Surface tablet from Microsoft, the competition would certainly be intensified. Microsoft has pretty much bridged the gap between a tablet and a laptop with the the introduction of its Surface tablet. Besides, the competition in the domain of 7 inch tablets has also considerably increased, given the launch of Google Nexus 7 and the expected launch of the second generation Kindle Fire.

Galaxy Note 10.1 inch version of the tablet would come in two models Galaxy Note 10.1 inch version of the tablet would come in two models(0)

Good news for the fans of Galaxy Note: the larger, 10.1 inch, version of the tablet would be launched during August, as per the official announcement by Samsung. The tablet, which would come with an S Pen style, would come in two models: WiFi only and 3G. 4G LTE models would also follow at a later stage. So far details regarding the price of the tablet have not been provided by Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was announced during the Mobile World Congress back in February. The two features that Samsung stressed upon for this device are multi-tasking and content creation, which would certainly help Samsung against the tough competition in the market of tablets. Besides, the S Pen stylus specifically made for this tablet would be another positive point since it readily integrates with many native apps for the tablet.

Other than the Stylus, important technical specs of Galaxy Note include a quad-core processor clocked at the speed of 1.4 GHz, 2 GB of RAM memory, 5 mega pixel rare end camera working in conjunction with a 1.9 mega pixel front end camera. Finally, the operating system for this device would be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which might be a disappointment for many since Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was also recently announced and many people were expecting to see it on Galaxy Note 10.1.

Important software features of Galaxy Note 10.1 include Pop Up Play, which can be used to play vidoes anywhere on the screen, while continuing other tasks. Another feature is Smart Stay, which keeps the display on as long as user have his or her eyes on it. Finally there is S Note, the note-taking app of Galaxy Note that works with the S Pen.

Original version of Galaxy Note, a 5.3 inch cross between a smart phone and a tablet, proved to be quite popular in the market. Besides, Galaxy S3 was also immensely successful, so it is expected that the 10.1 inch version of Galaxy Note would also do well. Samsung has surpassed Apple when it comes to the the number of smart phones sold worldwide, although it still lags behind in the market of tablets, with Apple’s iPad still having a market share of more than 50 percent. However, Samsung Galaxy Tab is considered to be the most popular 10 inch Andorid tablet in the market.

Samsung is all set to release the 10.1 inch version of its famed Samsung Galaxy Note. Original version of the device came with a display of 5.3 and was considered to be a cross between a tablet and a smart phone. Considering its immense success, Samsung decided to release a full tablet version as well, with a display size of 10.1 inch. There were rumors and speculations about the device a while back after which it seemed that everyone had gotten mute. Now, however, the device once again is making news and it seems that its specs sheet have been circulating over the Internet.

Few of the technical specs of the device have also been revealed in the specs sheet. Among these technical specs are included a powerful 1.4 GHz quad core processor, a RAM memory of 2 GB which would considerably enhance ther performance compared to the original 5.3 inch version of the device, a 5 mega pixel rare end camera with the facility of HD video recording in 1080p format and another 2 mega pixel front facing camera for video conferencing and chatting purposes. Sources have also claimed that Galaxy Note 10.1 would also allow the users to connect to smart phones and take calls via the tablet.

The operating system for the tablet is not know yet, although it would be great to have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for it. Now that most of the high end Android devices are soon getting their Jelly Bean updates soon, it might also be found for this device. Samsung is planning on hosting a Galaxy event in the US on August 15 during which the announcement and further details for Galaxy Note 10.1 can be expected.

The original version of Galaxy Note, a 5.3 inch cross between a tablet and smart phone, proved to be an immense success in the makret, even though most of the tech analysts had serious reservations about it, mainly due to its unusual size. While the 10.1 inch verison of the device is expected to be a success as well, its actual worth would be known only after it is released on a wide scale.

All in all, Galaxy Note is one of the most versatile handsets that have been released by any manufacturer to the date. Although tech analysts were initially doubtful about the success of the device considering its rather unusual size, the device proved to be a huge market success. Other than being available at select T-Mobile stores throughout the country, the device would also be available for pre-orders on the official website of T-Mobile, starting from next week.

Retailers have ordered more devices of Google Nexus tablet 7 Retailers have ordered more devices of Google Nexus tablet 7(0)

It seems that Google Nexus tablet would make it big in the market since the device is already out of stock at most retailers, given the high number of pre orders. After the official announcement of the tablet last month, Google was the first one to offer the pre-orders and after Google, other major retailers such as GameStop, Staples, and Sam’s Club also followed. However, due to the large number of pre-orders from the enthusiasts, the tablet is already out of stock and retailers have ordered more devices from the vendor.

GameStop is among the major retailers offering 16 GB version of the device which is also out of stock and the retailer has ordered more devices. The new round of Google Nexus tablets would be shipped from Game Stop starting from August 7. As a side offer, GameStop is also offering 30 percent increase on the value of any trade-in item for the users who would purchase the tablet.

Other three major retailers, Staples, Office Depot and Sam’s Club, are also showing the tablet out of stock. So far no information is available as to when the new stock would be available and more orders would be taken. According to the official announcement from Google, the shipment of the tablet would be started in a week or two.

The pre-orders for Nexus 7 were started by Google and other retailers starting from last Friday and within a week the retailers are out of stock, which depicts the immense demand for the device. This means that Google tablet would certainly make it big in the market, which can be an alarming situation for Amazon Kindle Fire. Google Nexus might also affect the market share of iPad to some extent.

There are a lot of impressive features that Nexus 7 tablet has to offer. These features include Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is not found on any other device as yet, HD display having a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, a powerful Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and a 1.2 mega pixel front facing camera. The tablet would be available in two models: 8 GB version for $199 and 16 GB version for $249. New stock of the devices would soon be made available after which more pre-orders would be taken from the customers.

Google Nexus tablet 7 has more than 600,000 apps Google Nexus tablet 7 has more than 600,000 apps(0)

Google’s recent announcement of a 7 inch Google Nexus tablet has caused a considerable stir in the tablet market. While Google has mainly stressed on competition with Amazon and has avoided a direct clash with Apple by not releasing a 10 inch tablet, people would certainly compare it with iPad as well.

Google Nexus tablet would come with a 1.3GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. In comparison to this, the new iPad contains a dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9. When it comes to the displays of both devices, the new iPad has a clear edge with its 1536×2048 resolution and a pixel density of 264 ppi. Google Nexus, on the other hand, would feature a resolution of 1280×800 pixels along with a pixel density of 216 ppi.

When we compare the cameras of both devices, iPad once again has an edge with its 5 mega pixel iSight camera, in addition to a VGA front facing camera. Google Nexus features only a single 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera. Considering that Google mainly intends on competing with Amazon Kindle Fire, this is still better since Kindle Fire does not have any camera at all. Connectivity on the new iPad is much better in comparison with Google Nexus. The new iPad has support for WiFi, 3G as well as 4G LTE networks, while Google Nexus so far only has support for WiFi networks, although support for 3G might be added soon.

The new iPad is available in 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB versions, while Google Nexus is available in two models of 8 GB and 16 GB. Besides, both tablets have no support for microSD card.

Finally comes the important factor of price and this is one factor that would attract large consumers towards Google Nexus. The 8 GB version of Google Nexus is available for $199 while the 16 GB version would cost $249. On the other hand, the 16 GB version of the new iPad can be purchased for $499. With an attraction of more than 600,000 apps and the latest version of Android, Jelly Beans, Google Nexus clearly has a chance of making it big in the market. Besides, it does not have to directly compete with iPad since both tablets belong to different domains of 10 inch and 7 inch displays.

Technical specs for Google Nexus tablet Technical specs for Google Nexus tablet(0)

Last couple of months have been very important in the tech industry since two of the top companies, Microsoft and Google, announced their respective tablets and made official launch in the tablet industry. However, while Microsoft has made the hardware of its own tablet, the hardware of Google Nexus tablet was manufactured by Asus.

Google Nexus tablet is a 7 inch tablet which would come with dual core Tegra 3 processor. Besides, it would run the latest version of Android named Jelly Beans. Priced at extremely competitive $200, this tablet would certainly prove to be the closest rival of Amazon Kindle Fire. Initial reviews by the tech experts reveal this tablet as extremely snappy and smooth device. The tablet is much better compared to the first version of Kindle Fire so if Amazon wants to remain in the competition, it would need to launch the second generation version with much better specs.

While Kindle Fire did run Android as its operating system, its user interface was much different compared to almost all other Android devices in the market. Besides, Amazon’s large content based services also played their role in the success of Amazon tablet. Prior to the launch of Amazon Kindle Fire, Amazon Book Store had been established as the most reliable and most popular online retailer of books and other content. So Kindle Fire was already expected to be a success. Amazon also made a wise decision of launching the tablet on the eve of Christmas when the demand for gadgets is at its highest. However, after the initial immense success, the demand for the tablet considerably declined. But still it remains to be one of the very best Android tablets in the market.

Talking from the perspective of Google, the Nexus Tablet is certainly much better than Kindle Fire when we talk of technical specs. Besides, the brand name of Google coupled with the reasonable price would play its role in the success of this tablet. Google Play is a relatively recent innovation but it has done pretty good since its inception. Besides, Google has collected all its services at a single place in its new tablet which would certainly contribute towards the popularity of this device. By the time Google Nexus hits the market, Amazon would most probably announce the second generation version of its tablet. As for the winner of this contest, that would be known after both devices are released and tested by experts and common users.

Acer announced a Windows 8 based tablet during Computex trade show Acer announced a Windows 8 based tablet during Computex trade show(0)

Acer has become one of the very first tech giants to officially announce a Windows 8 based tablet, although such initiatives are expected from several other manufacturers in near future. The announcement was made during the Computex trade show in Taipei. Acer has previously announced two Windows 8 tablets that would be shipped during the fall of this year. However, so far Acer has not given out any official information regarding the technical specs, price or exact release date of the tablet. Previously we also have a Windows 7 based tablet from Acer known as Iconia Tab W500, where the W indicated Windows. For Android based tablets form Acer, we find the subscript A. With the Windows 8 tablet, however, there won’t be any more “Tab” with the name of the device.

The names of these two Windows 8 based tablets form Acer are Iconia W510 and the Iconia W700, and both of them have Intel x86 architecture. This architecture would allow the tablets to run Windows 8 in full mode, including the desktop mode. So far, only very little information is know regarding the technical specs of the devices. All we know is that Acer Iconia W510 would have a display size of 10.1 inch and a screen resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. The tablet, just like the previous W500, would have a detachable clamshell keyboard dock. This would also result in an extended battery life, which can go to as many as 18 hours with Windows 8 running.

The other tablet named Iconia W700, which is also being called the “Performance” Windows 8 tablet, seems particularly interesting. This would be an 11.6 inch tablet having a screen resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels which makes it much better compared to most Android tablets available in the market at present. This unique tablet would come with multipurpose dock, and users would be able to tilt the display up to 70 degrees. Besides, this device would have 3 USB ports onboard for added facility.

So far information regarding the exact release date or price of these tablets is not known. However, it is expected that the price would fall somewhere between $400 and $800 for W510 and $800 to $1000 for W700. The price is slightly lower than Samsung Series 7 Slate, although there is not much of a difference. But overall, it would certainly be great to test a Windows 8 based tablet in near future.

Dell is planning to release another tablet in near future Dell is planning to release another tablet in near future(0)

Dell does not have a very good experience with tablets, even though its history as a manufacturer of personal computers is remarkable. Previously, Dell released its 5 inch tablet with the name of Streak tablet which could not attract much attention. Besides, the tablet was also criticized by many people due to some functionality issues. This is the only tablet from Dell so far and comes with Android operating system. At present, Dell is not selling this tablet any more, although it can be purchased from third party retailers. But it seems that Dell has not given up and is planning to release another tablet in near future. According to Steve Felice, the chief commercial officer of Dell, the company would be releasing an 8 inch tablet in near future. This tablet would be running Windows 8 since the initial reception of Windows 8 is very high and positive. Besides, the touch interface that accompanies Windows 8 is compatible with a variety of different products.

Even though Dell has not been able to make a mark in the market of tablets, it is still a huge name when it comes to the development of personal desktops and laptops. At present, Dell is the third largest manufacturer of personal computers, after HP and Lenovo. The new tablet, however, would be announced in the second half of 2012 and most probably we would see it in the market in early 2013. One of the main aims of this tablet, according to Dell, would be to incorporate the common and commercial requirements, since the workers in the IT departments of the companies are fed up of doing such incorporation for the employees, which also results in a lot of overhead. Right now there are several serious issues such as security, compatibility, device management etc. and tackling all these issues from a single device is certainly a huge task, and Dell intends to undertake such as task in the new tablet. Besides, Dell still believes there is a lot of room for innovation and improvement in the market of the tablets, since the processing power and typing facilities in the tablets are still not as good as conventional computers. Dell would possibly also bring forward some ideas to cover the gap that exists between conventional computers and tablets on this front.
