Buy SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 10.1 in Australia Buy SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 10.1 in Australia(3)

Samsung has set to launch its ultrathin Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 inch in Australia as it partners with Vodafone this May.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, awarded the title the thinnest tablet in the world, has finally arrived on the market. Measuring 0.33 inch in thickness, it has surpassed Apple iPad2 with 0.34 inch. Aside from this characteristics, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is proud for offering support for Adobe Flash Player 10.2 which Apple iPad2 doesn’t have.

In terms of quality performance, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 technical specifications raises more expectations than other tablets. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 features Samsung TouchWiz as user interface. Samsung Galaxy Tab uses Android 3.0 Honeycomb as operating system and it is powered by 1GHz dual core processor.

The slate comes in variation of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, and has a support for microSD up to 32GB capacity. With such high storage capacity, users could store more ebooks and applications, maximizing the usage and value of this device. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is pre-loaded with Readers Hub, Music Hub, and Social Media Hub, integrates email, instant messaging, calendar organizer, and social networks.

When you buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, you buy a device that has everything needed in this technology driven world. With Galaxy Tab’s 10.1 inch display, users can enjoy an instant entertainment experience, watch videos or play music. It has 3 megapixel rear-facing camera, enhanced with autofocus and LED flash for better captured moments. As for videos, the 8.0 megapixel rear camera is best in capturing motions.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 US price is almost same with competitors’. WiFi enabled 16GB and 32GB are priced at $499 and $599 respectively in the US, while 64GB price is to be announced, as well as information about 3G and 4G versions.

Vodafone Australia already allow clients to make pre-orders. The price of Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia is AU$729 with a prepaid 6GB data included, or you can buy Galaxy Tab for free if you sign a 24 months contract with Vodafone for data plans starting from AU$39. In both cases it is not specified the storage version of Galaxy Tab 10.1, so we can only assume Vodafone offers at this money the cheapest Galaxy Tab with 3G capabilities, the model with 16 GB storage.

Buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Buy iPad 2? Buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Buy iPad 2?review(3)

Considering the Tablet PC starting to be the modern fashion, you will find numbers of benefits to  to buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 instead of the iPad2. The Tablet PC industry basically taken over by Apple’s first Tablet and iPad2, those with an idea for something distinctive have the privilege to seek something different. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 technical specs will make your mouth water with an affordable price. By means of comparison, have a look at several aspects why you could buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 rather of the iPad2:

Display Resolution:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is provided with an fantastic 1280×800 resolution, while the iPad2 stays behind, coming with 1024×768. It may seem like a minor gap, yet it is a difference nevertheless.

CPU power:

The iPad 2 is driven by the new dual-core 1GHz A5 processor, while The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has also a dual-core 1GHz processor. Some are saying that A5 could be better and faster but this was not been proven.

Operating System:

The Apple iPad 2 runs iOS 4.3, which has the ability to make the web browser work faster. iOS 4.3 also gives a much improved version of Apple’s Nitro JavaScript, which makes program on all iOS-based devices run smoother. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is powered by Android 3.0, aka, Honeycomb which is known for its easily customizable widgets and powerful and effortless multitasking.

Storage Space:

Storage Space wise, Apple’s iPad 2 provides more options since it offers a 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal memory devices. The Galaxy Tab, indeed, provides only two choices, 16GB and 32GB. But with Android’s ability to operate memory, missing the 64GB storage model will not be considered a big issue.

Cameras:

The two Tablets, iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 feature 2 cameras each. With its 2MP front-facing and 8MP rear-facing camera Galaxy Tab 10.1 wins this battle leaving iPad lovers dreaming of iPad 3.

Battery life:

The iPad2 provides 10 hours of battery life. Although we have no details on the battery life of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 for the moment, we know the Android 3.0 capability to enhance battery life in tablets running its OS – the Motorola Xoom offers 10 hours of battery life for example – so it is likely to see the same life of battery on Samsung Galaxy Tab too.

Price:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 price tag is also a winner. The 16GB WiFi only models for both iPad 2 and 10.1 Galaxy Tab have cheapest prices at $499 and $469 accordingly. When you scale up to the 32 GB model, the iPad 2 and 10.1  Galaxy Tab prices are at $599 and $569 respectively.

A lot of people believe that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 could be the end of an era for iPad. Although reasons showed in this article are not enough for this, we think that there will be a lot willing to buy Galaxy Tab instead of iPad2 begging June.

Motorola Xoom to be released next week in UK Motorola Xoom to be released next week in UK(5)

It’s confirmed - Motorola Xoom will be available to buy next week in UK. Motorola didn’t give a specific release date but it has to be before Asus Eee Pad Transformer’s launch if Motorola wants to present the first Android 3.0 running tablet as promoted in the photo below.

Motorola has been accepting online pre-orders since last month and they committed to deliver starting with April 9th. They seem to have been taken quite by surprise by Asus guys. Interesting enough, the Xoom has similar technical specifications with Eee Pad Transformer. Both use same CPU (1GB dual core Tegra 2), same RAM memory (1GB),  have 5 MP cameras on the back and same thickness (12.9mm).

Asus Tablet is 50g lighter, weighting only 680g, but its facing camera has only 1.2 MP comparing with Xoom tablet which offers a 2 MP camera for video conferences.

Eee Pad Transformer has also the docking keyboard that allows you to turn it into a netbook, giving users also up to 8 more hours of use.

Motorola Xoom is also competing with Acer Iconia Tab W500, also announced for release at the beginning of April. Tough competition on the 10.1 inch tablet segment, even more when the prices are sensibly close.

For example the Windows 7 runing Acer Iconia Tab W500 has the same price in UK as Motorola Xoom, (449.99 GPB) both being only 20GBP more expensive as Asus Eee Pad Transformer and 30 GBP cheaper than iPad 2. All of these models are having 32 GB storage and no 3G capabilities.

We don’t have prices for Motorola Xoom in EURO but we will publish them before Motorola Xoom will hit the stores in Germany or France.

The Asus Tablet is available in UK through Best Buy as well  and you can buy the 16GB Transformer for 379 £ and the 32GB model for 429£.

It is announced in France stores beginning May for a starting price of €399.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is an Android 3.0 Honeycomb running tablet with a 10.1 inch IPS capacitive display (1280 x 800 pixels). It has a 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM and has 2 storage options: 16GB and 32GB.

A very useful accessory for the Eee Pad is the docking keyboard that not only gives a much better typing experience but increases the tablet’s battery life with 8 more hours because it has its own battery and together go up to 16 hours of autonomy. Best Buy will sell it for around $50.

Main competitors for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer are the Android 3.0 running Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Apple’s iOS running iPad2. Keep in mind that the Asus Eee Pad Transformer  is 99$ less than Apple’s iPad, and more affordable than the Motorola Xoom and this could be a tablet for the clients making decisions only based on price comparisons.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 prices Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 prices(0)

As you can see in this engadget photo, Samsung also revealed today the prices of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi. As expected, the cheapest Galaxy Tab 10.1 has the same price as the cheapest iPad 2, while Galaxy Tab 8.9 is starting from $469. In both cases we are speaking about 16GB with no 3G. Samsung’s press release mentions as well tablets with 64GB storage but today the Koreans didn’t give us prices for these models.

Bottom line, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 starting June 8 in US. WiFi model costs $499 or $599 for 16GB and 32GB respectively and most probably $699 if they are also planning a 64GB model.

Samsung couldn’t mention an exact release date for Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 but it is expected early summer. The price is $469 for 16GB storage and $569 for 32 GB storage. Again probably $669 for its bigest storage capacity.

With these two new tablets on the market we expect Motorola to lower the price for Xoom which was  until today the only tablet in stores capable to penetrate the market share of iPad.
