Why iPad Mini is more interesting for me(0) iPad Mini has presented a much more affordable option for iPad enthusiasts who were previously using the standard version of the device or who are considering getting one. iPad Mini pretty much offers all the facilities that are available on the standard version of the tablet, only with a considerably reduced price. Other than providing easier mobility, mini iPad also offers a perfect alternative to eReaders, being the size of a book. Having same resolution and pixel density in a smaller space, mini iPad also offers great video watching experience. Users simply love watching Netflix and Hulu+ videos and films on iPad Mini and another added advantage is that the can stream full HD videos on their HDTV using iPad Mini. In fact, presence of this facility can act as a perfect alternative to cable. Talking about the mobility of the device, one of the main reasons why users preferred tablets over laptops and desktops was because tablets offer easy mobility. So naturally, people looking for lighter and smaller device would prefer iPad Mini over the full sized device since carrying a 7 inch device is far easier compared to 10 inch devices. Whether you want to browse the internet, check emails or read books in the bed, Mini iPad is a better and perfectly viable alternative. Gaming experience on iPad Mini is also no less compared to its 10 inch counterpart. Whether you are in your kitchen, at Starbucks or in the park, you can always enjoy videos, games and books on iPad Mini, with increased mobility. With respect to the technical specs, there is not a huge difference between iPad Mini and the standard version of the device. Even if the specs are toned down to some extent, lesser price pretty much makes up for the difference. Easily mobility and reduced price was one of the main factors why Amazon, Samsung and Google decided to launch their versions of 7 inch tablets. And the immense popularity of Amazon and Google devices proved that people would appreciate such ventures. Apple was initially reluctant of making this move but after the success of Kindle Fire and Nexus 7, Apple finally launched iPad Mini and time has proved that the decision was well worth the effort. |

The new iPad has a clear edge over the latest Samsung tablet(0)
We have the latest version of the Apple iPad while Samsung has also announced the next version of its famous tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 during the Mobile World Congress. Among the Android tablets, Samsung’s tablet is the most popular tablet in the market while Apple’s iPad is, as we already know, the most popular tablet of all time. A brief comparison of these two giant devices is in order. A noteworthy aspect with regard to both these tablets is that you won’t find many hardware changes in both of them, even though there are several software enhancements, among them being 4G LTE capability for both. With respect to the physical structure of these devices, even though Galaxy Tab is a bit thicker compared to iPad, its weight is slightly lower. The weight of iPad happens to be 662g while the corresponding weight of the Samsung tablet is 588g. With respect to the screen resolution, the new iPad has clear edge with its Retina Display, having a resolution of 2048 x1536 and a pixel density of 224 ppi. The resolution of Galaxy Tab 2, on the other hand, is 800 x 1280 pixels along with a pixel density of 149 ppi. When we compare the processing power of these devices, once again, Apple seems to have an edge. Surprisingly, Samsung didn’t upgrade its device to the anticipated quad core processor and instead decided to retain the 1 GHz dual core processor along with 1 GB or RAM memory. The new iPad, in comparison, runs on efficient dual core Apple A5X processor, with its widely acclaimed architecture. From the software side, the battle between iOS and Android continues. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 would come with Ice Cream Sandwich which has an extremely well designed user interface while Apple tablet would run the latest version of iOS, that is, iOS 5.1. There was no update in the camera feature of the Samsung tablet as well and it remains to be the same 3.15 mega pixel camera with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels and HD video recording in 720p format. Apple’s new iPad, on the other hand, contains a 5 mega pixel rare and camera with 1080p video recording along with video stabilization. So basically the bottom line is that the new iPad has a clear edge over the latest Samsung tablet and its pretty evident that some fine hardware and software enhancements have been made by Apple while Samsung, although contrary to the expectations, didn’t really impress the tech buffs. |

Nokia will release a tablet based on Windows 8(0)
There is a lot of anticipation about the release of a Windows 8 based tablet from Nokia in near future. This would certainly be a delight to use since Windows 8 is already generating positive reviews everywhere. This can be among the tablets that can pose serious threat to the monopoly of iPad, but to make that sure, Nokia would have to take care of a few important things. For the time being, there is no information about the technical specifications of this device and all we can do is guessing. First of all, let’s talk a bit about the display of the device. With respect to the resolution of the devices, we have seen some exciting progress in the recent months. Samsung has released its 7.7 inch Galaxy Tab with AMOLED display which is a delight to use. Apple, on the other hand, has released the new iPad with Retina Display which is the highest resolution in the market right now. So resolution is one front where Nokia would need to pay special attention. Secondly, battery of the device is very important for today’s busy and engaged user. Having a battery of less than 10 hours critically reduces the overall impact of the device. This problem has been found in most of the tablets and smartphones. One way around this problem is the approach that has been taken by Asus by placing a secondary battery in the keyboard. So a battery life of at least more than 10 hours would certainly increase the worth of the tablet. After that, since the tablet would hardly be released before the end of 2012, it would certainly need to have a support for 4G, since by the end of this year, having no support for 4G would pretty much reduce the importance of the device. Other than the main technical specs, the design of the tablet also matters a lot since not everyone purchases a tablet just because of the technical specs. Besides, among the top end tablets, there is not much difference between the technical specs and under such a situation a lot of users prefer to purchase tablets due to their design appeal. But we can trust Nokia on this front. Last but not least, it would be better for Nokia to create a device that succeeds in producing its own worth in the market. The device might not even have technical specs better than iPad, but it should have some alternatives that make people go for it rather than other tablets. Hopefully, interesting technical specs coupled with Windows 8 would certainly result in one of the best tablets in the market. |

HP Touchpad vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1(0)
Talking from the perspective of display, Galaxy 10.1 again seems to have an upper hand. Touchpad has a display of 9.7 TFT capacitive touchscreen and also facilitates multi touch input. The screen resolution of the Touchpad happens to be 768 x 1024 pixels which is almost to same as that of iPad. Galaxy Tab 10.1, on the other hand, contains a display of 10.1-inch PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen, that is, slightly larger than the former. Besides, its resolution is also a bit higher compared to the Touchpad, that is, 800 x 1280 pixels. Now let’s take a look at the storage capabilities of the two devices. HP Touchpad comes with either 16GB or 32 GB internal storage capabilities and a 1GB RAM with both versions. But the problem that users would face is that it does not have any card slot for external storage, which is certainly a negative point. Galaxy Tab is also pretty much same in this regard and also does not have any card slot. But the only edge it has over its competitor is that it is also available in a 64GB version. So from the perspective of storage, Galaxy Tab once again has an upper hand. The processors of HP Touchpad and Galaxy 10.1 seem to have almost same kind of specifications. Touchpad has a processor of 1.2 GHz running on the APQ8060 Snapdragon chipset. Galaxy Tab also has a dual core processor but has a slightly lower clock speed compared to touchpad. So basically, when considered from the perspective of efficient capacitors, both devices seem to be on equal par. It’s difficult to compare both devices form the perspective of operating system since they run different operating systems. Touchpad runs Web OS 3.0 while Galaxy Tab runs Android 3.0 Honeycom. Both operating systems have pretty impressive multi tasking capabilities and beautiful interface. Other than being user friendly, they also give users control over the applications so both seem to be quite attractive for the users. Finally, Galaxy Tab has an edge over touchpad when we consider their cameras. Galaxy tab has 3.15 MP camera with 2048×1536 pixels resolution while touchpad comes with only 1.3 MP camera with 1280 x 1024 resolution. So overall, Galaxy Tab 10.1 clearly has an edge over HP touchpad which needs some more improvements to exert an impressive influence in the market. |

Alternatives to iPad2(0)
Apple’s iPad2 can be considered the market leader when it comes to Tablet PCs. However, the competition is not entirely dry and there are other similar products which can challenge the monopoly of iPad2 in near future. Some of the noteworthy rivals of iPad2 are as follows: HP TouchPad: This product which will be launched on 1st July is expected to be a sound competitor due to its attractive features such as ability to tap an HP smartphone against it to transfer content. An improved version of WebOS and fine ability of multitasking are additional features. RIM BlackBerry PlayBook: While this might not be the best product for common consumers, it certainly has a clear advantage when it comes to the corporate. The device works great in integration with blackberry smart phone and good thing is its 7-inch display which is less compared to other Tablet PCs. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: With all the amazing features, this is perhaps the most anticipated device released this year. Most distinguished among all Android Tablets, it has a 10.1 display which is slightly bigger than iPad2 and can be perfect for movies and gaming purposes. Apple MacBook Air: Lightweight and thin footprint are noteworthy features of this product. An access to Apple’s app store is also integrated and multitouch feature also seems to be pretty attractive. This is particularly attractive for those who prefer hand-on functionality. Sony S1: With a 9.4-inch screen and Android OS, Sony S1 is also a valid alternative for iPad2. Qriocity music and movie service are among the distinguished features of this product, which also has an access to PlayStation suite. Sony S2: A unique introduction to Tablet market is Sony S2 which contains two 5.5-inch screens with an option to be used together or separately. Clamshell design of the device facilitates easy mobility. Apple iPhone4: iPhone4 can used along with iPad2 but many people buy iPhone 4 as an alternative to iPad 2 since it has the same operating system, touchscreen functionality as well as applications. In certain cases such as making calls, it even has an edge over iPad2. HP Pavilion Laptop: 13.3 inch screen and Windows 7 make this device pretty attractive and light weight alternative for iPad2. Both from the hardware and software perspectives, it has a clear edge over iPad2. Contrast its 320 GB of storage with iPad’s 16 GB while the price is same, that is, $499.99. Toshiba Thrive: This device would come with a 10.10inch display with Android 3.1. With front and rear end cameras, this device offers almost all features of iPad2. Its price, however, is less compared to iPad2, being $479.99 for a 16 GB device. Samsung Series 5 Chromebook: This is also a pretty lightweight device, although many people might not find it a valid alternative to iPad2. But the device is nonetheless very economical as well as mobile. It’s your choice, feel free to choose! |

Samsung’s Lawyers insist to see iPhone5 and iPad3(0)
A controversy spilled over the two well-known makers of leading tablets and phones, Samsung and Apple, when Samsung’s lawyers made a motion insisting that Apple must present to them prototypes of their soon to be launched gadgets consisting of the iPhone5 and iPad3. The petition arose when Samsung knew of the confidentiality by Apple of their newest products when in fact Apple was given the consent to view the samples of their upcoming phones and tablets during their launching last week. On the other hand, iPad 3 which is speculated to be ready this year: an improved operating system (iOS 5) that will show off of enormously speedy processor (1.5 GHz); in 9.7-inch display with aluminium cover at the back, built with better cameras than iPad 2,enhanced battery and with memory of up to 64 GB. iPad 3 price is expected to be very similar to the iPad 2 price. Tough decision. Should buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or wait and buy iPad 3? I let you decide. |

Galaxy Tab 10.1 takes over iPad2(1)
With the high competition these days, Samsung has come up with a new Android Honeycomb Tablet that has superior quality and great features! The main advantage of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 over iPad is its 1280×800 resolution 10.1-inch TFT display compared to iPad2 only 9.7 inches with 1024×768 display. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has 16GB to 32GB variations of storage, with 8MP back camera with LED flash and 2MP front camera. This is the high edge of the tab 10.1 over iPad 2 because of its stunning images produced. The camera delivers excellent performance which Samsung does in every gadget they produce. The Samsung Super PLS-based display generates a clear, crisp image, with a large viewing angle that makes it wonderful when you are browsing and surfing the Web. Performance wise, this dual-core Tegra 2 processor powered Tablet promises full 1080p playback. It has both gyroscope and accelerometer for a nice motion gaming experience. Talking about hardware comparison, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 weighs 1.23 pounds over iPad2 which weighs 1.33 pounds. Its lightweight design sets the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 above iPad2. On the edges of Galaxy Tab 10.1, you will see a SIM slot, 3.5mm jack and a micro SD. Unlike the iPad2 which are limited to AT&T and Verizon 3G version, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available on every carrier service in the US. You can choose a carrier that suits you wherever you are. So that makes the Galaxy Tab 10.1 suitable for anyone. In the applications, scrolling is very smooth. Samsung did a great job and its Honeycomb Android works very good on Galaxy Tab 10.1. Buy Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1 as it is in some perspectives on top of its rival. Superb design, very sleek and extremely light so what could you ask for? It is made of plastic and this makes it slippery but it is reasonably solid. IPad could give a better feeling to some but Android is beginning to claim a share of the market. The contest for the Best Tablet PC goes on. |

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and iPad 2 comparison(2)
Does the “best Tablet” title still hold true for Apple iPad if at some points, iPad2 technical specifications are being left behind by the newer, better and more advanced Tablets in the market, like Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to be specific? Apple is undeniably innovative when it introduced the iPad to the computing world. The development of Tablet PC as an alternate to notebook, netbook and smartphones, has been considered as an opportunity for Apple competitors. One of the greatest contenders of Apple nowadays is Samsung Corp., the one behind Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 – the strongest contender of iPad2. Here are some major points on how Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 robustly threatens the “best tablet” title being held by iPad2 for now. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 technical specifications and that of iPad’s are different at some point, and similar in some ways. First difference is the operating system. Apple brand is being set aside from all other computing devices because of its uniquely coded iOS series that is limited only for use of Apple brand. Unlike Samsung Galaxy Tab, it uses Android, which is not only used by Samsung brand but also utilized by others Tablet manufacturers. Such wide presence among different devices may dispel the exclusivity and uniqueness of Android Tablets, but is there anything bad if more Tablet manufacturers prefer using Android for their Tablets? Do they believe on Android’s capability that’s why they choose Android over others? Perhaps YES they do trust Android. Otherwise, they would just leave Tablet world to iPad. Next truth about Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 capability to strain iPad 2′s title to “best tablet” is the Galaxy’s lightness and sleekness. Admit it or not, you yourself always wish to own the latest and the most striking device should there be an opportunity to do so. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is undoubtedly slimmer than iPad2 and there is no way to argue about it. Other features that made Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 get ahead of iPad2 include the following: camera, screen, surround speakers and multitasking capability. There are two cameras in Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the 8.0MP rear camera for shooting videos and the 2.0MP front camera for taking pictures and video chatting. More reviewers prefer the moments captured by Galaxy Tab rather than that of iPad2 VGA resolution photos. Tablet is a device with wide screen, and any impression drawn over the screen would greatly affect the people’s decision to buy Tablet PC. In the case between Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 inch screen and iPad2 9.7 inch display, there is no doubt that Galaxy Tab will capture the heart of most Tablet fans. Galaxy Tab has wider and better resolution of 1280×800 as compared to iPad2 1024×768 resolution. You probably know how to count figures, therefore there is no doubt that Galaxy Tab has better resolution whether in viewing photos or when watching videos. In connection to watching videos, coupled with listening to music, speakers are a great factor in attaining an optimum sound system. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 placed its speakers on both outside edges, the left and the right, to maintain balance resulting to a more realistic stereo sound. Sound quality is a great factor when deciding to buy Tablets, hence, having a stereo speaker quality sound like that of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is already a bonus. Another irresistible feature unique to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that could make you buy Galaxy Tab 10.1, is the Samsung’s capability to do Multitasking. Tablet users can open as many programs as they want, and leave the programs open and stay at the background when not in use. Thanks to Android 3.0 Honeycomb for freezing the in-app activity while iPad2 can only give app icons. Another point of comparison is the Apps Market. Apple and Android have their respective Apps Store, so there is no reason for Apple fans to brag about Apple’s Apps Store as it is not alone. More games can be played through Android based devices. And who would deny the fact that it is better and more exciting to play and race through a wider screen of Galaxy Tab rather than confining yourself in a much smaller screen of iPad2. In terms of pricing, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 price is rumored to be $100 lower than that of iPad2. This fact would surely be a strong reason to buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Though Apple iPad is the first to kick off the Tablet market, keep in mind that Tablet industry is more than just iPad. Buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to have a galactic tablet experience that no other Tablet can provide, not even iPad2.
