Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch postponed in Australia Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch postponed in Australia(0)

The legal battle over the intellectual property that had commenced between Apple and Samsung a few months ago has now intensified. The newest episode in this regard is that Samsung has decided to postpone the release of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Originally, the event to launch the product was decided to be on 11th of August, 2011. But after some consideration, Samsung authorities decided to postpone the event for the time being. Not only this, most probably the other product which was to be released on the same day, GalTab 10.1 would also be postponed. According to the latest resources, GalTab 10.1 would be released in near future now, but the exact date of the release has not yet been announced.

What the resources revealed more is that Samsung has recently reached an agreement with Apple by which Samsung would not release its Galaxy Tab in Australia. But to Apple’s utter chagrin, Samsung found the other way round and decided to release another product in close resemblance with Galaxy Tab. Although this was not the direct breach of the agreement, it certainly was a move that annoyed Apple. So after some more argument, Samsung has, for the time being, delayed the release of any of its tablet products in Australia. What happens in near future is yet to be decided. The battle started when Samsung released its Tablet earlier this year and especially, after the cover for the tablet was released which was exactly like iPad2’s cover in design. Although Samsung denies any allegations of copying, there is some close resemblance between iPad2 and Galaxy Tab when it comes to the technical specifications. In fact, in certain aspects such as camera, memory and display etc., Galaxy Tab has an edge over iPad2. Both products have almost similar prices so in the same price range it seems that Galaxy Tab has more to offer to the customers as compared to iPad2.

Although the event for the release was cancelled, it by no means signifies that the release of the product has totally been cancelled. The release has merely been postponed and the product would most probably be released later this year. By then, the legal battle between Apple and Samsung would also, most probably, wither away and customers all over the world would be able to take a sigh of relief. For now, anticipating Australian fans would have to keep their fingers crossed for some time, probably not more than a few months.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G(0)

The constantly increasing competition in the tablet PC market has been forcing the competitors to improve each and every aspect of their products. One such front is that of speed and the first experience with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 shows that on this front, it has a clear edge over its competitors. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 has become the first table to benefit from Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE technology and through that, achieve higher speeds. It was expected that Motorola Xoom would achieve this status of being the first 4G tablet but Samsung won the race on this front. But although Galaxy Tab provides high speed data rates, there are some negative points as well, such as cost and more importantly the low battery life.

However, Samsung has also been in trouble with Apple regarding the intellectual property rights. Samsung denies any such allegations and has announced the release of the tablet for Australia in near future.

Although there are other noteworthy technical specifications of Galaxy Tab as well, but the speed of the device is its most distinguishing feature. From the aspect of other features, Galaxy Tab does bear a close resemblance with the iPad2. The operating system that the device runs is Android’s Honeycomb. Other noteworthy specifications include a 10.1 inch widescreen display, a 3 MP rear end camera with flash as well as a 2 MP front facing camera. Users can also have an easy access to movies and TV shows through Samsung’s Media Hub store. An aspect which gives Galaxy Tab a slight edge over iPad2 is that this device weighs merely 1.25 pounds which happens to be a bit less compared to iPad2. But the clear difference, again, comes when we compare the speeds. Apple’s iPad2, for the time being, cannot compete Galaxy Tab when it comes to high speeds since it is far behind Verizon’s fast cellular speeds. Verizon’s LET technology can afford download speeds of 5 to 12 Mpbs and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mpbs, which is indeed remarkable. LET technology has been constantly expanding and at present, covers over 102 markets over the world with a population of some 160 million. This is expected to increase considerably in near future. Pretty reasonable prices have been announced for the Galaxy Tab at present: $529.99 for a 16 GB model and $629.99 for a 32 GB model. Additionally, Verizon also charges $30 for a monthly data access of 2 GB.

But the problem that the users of Galaxy Tab might face is unimpressive battery life. Initial tests indicate a battery life of about 5 hours. However, this can be improved and Samsung would certainly do something about this crucial matter. But considering all other features, Samsung Galaxy Tab seems to be a close competitor of iPad2 for sure.

The competition in the tablet market has considerably increased in the recent years and it seems that the trend will continue in the coming years as well. Sony has not released any tablet related products prior to these two products so Sony has been putting a lot into these products. A number of preinstalled apps have been included, such as a customized music player that would be featuring Sony’s SensMe mood-tailored playlists. The content streaming app from Chummy OS would also be part of the tablet. Zinio would be another noteworthy application which would facilitate a user friendly digital magazine reading experience on the tablet. The recent screenshots have also revealed some information about other parts of the hardware. For example, a proprietary connector support by the charging adaptor as well as dual-core NVidia Tegra 2 processors have been seen to be part of the device. Overall, it clearly seems that Sony has exerted a lot of effort in making Sony S1 and S2 worthy competitors to the existing products in the tablet market. Recently, a fake iPhone store has been discovered in China which has been dealing with best selling Apple products and happens to be a complete replica of an original iPhone store. This fake store was spotted by a young American blogger living in Kunming, Yunnan province of China. Customers as well as most employees are totally unaware of the store being fake and go there for jobs and purchase of the Apple products. These counterfeits have been selling Apple Inc’s best-selling iPhones and iPads for quite a while now. Everything from the tables to the uniform of the employees is totally similar to the original Apple trademark. The store contains the famous white Apple logo, has the usual wooden tables and a staff which claims to be working for Apple. Overall, the store looks exactly like the original Apple stores found throughout the world.

iPhone 5 and iPad 3 Rumors iPhone 5 and iPad 3 Rumors(0)

Apple is expected to release its iPhone5 as well as iPad3 in near future, so those users who are considering buying these products some time soon should better wait for a while and get their hands on these better products. However, if you are in a rush, you might just go ahead with your plans. iPhone5 is expected to be released in September this year while iPad3 might also be released soon, although we don’t have the confirmed news as yet. These devices would be running the new operating system from Apple, iOS 5

Let’s take a look at the technical specifications of iPhone5. iPhone5 is expected to have a complete support for 4G and by 4G we mean LTE (Long Term Evolution) which is the next-generation 4G technology, in addition to HSPA. However, serious series battery issues can emerge in the presence of LTE so its presence in iPhone5 can’t really be guaranteed.

There might be slight modifications in the form and body of iPhone5 as compared to iPhone5. It is expected to be thinner and lighter. Besides, to compete the Android based phone, Apple is also considering an increase in the size of the screen from original 3.5 inches. The most critical change, however, would be the presence of a faster processor to almost as high as 1.5 GHz, as compared to 1 GHz of iPhone4. This would, needless to say, considerably improve the speed of browsing and all other tasks performed on the iPhone. Another factor would be that of storage. The maximum storage capacity offered by iPhone4 was 32 GB and many users have problems with this limited capacity. Considering this, iPhone5 is expected to be offered in 64GB model as well, in addition to 16GB and 32GB models. Another feature would be a camera with better resolution, having storage of up to 8 GB and a facility of full HD 1080p video-recording. A dual LED flash to facilitate brighter shots in darker locations might also be the part of this camera. Further, the antenna issue created problems for some users in iPhone4 so this aspect would also be modified in iPhone5 with a better antenna to facilitate better network coverage and less call drops.

Now let’s take a short look at iPad3 rumors. Although for the time being, there isn’t any confirmed news that Apple would be launching iPad3 this fall, but the possibility of this can’t be denied. But of course, if Apple decides to do any such thing, iPad3 would be a better version of iPad2 having smart size and better display. But to know all these things for sure, just keep your fingers crossed.
