Samsung Corp., a major producer of electronic devices takes Tablet war seriously. Samsung announced not just one, but more tablets this year, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v, followed immediately by Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 versions simply proves the company’s serious moves in taking the lead in tablet market.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 technical specifications coincide with each other, but each of them have unique features that every Tablet fans should consider. Whatever the reason of Samsung for bringing up the second version 10.1 inch Tablet immediately even first version is not yet in market, the technical specifications could somehow decipher such strategy of Samsung.

Design is one of the major considerations when buying devices. In the Tablet PC world, the slimmest one gets the most attention. It’s true and has been proven by successful iPad 2 compared to first iPad. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v was designed with 0.43 inch thickness. It was out-slimmed by Apple iPad 2 having a thickness of 0.34 inches only. Seeing the trend, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 came with amazingly 0.33 inch thickness only, hence, it is dubbed as the world’s thinnest tablet until today.

Other specs are same for both tablets, such as the 10.1 inches WXGA capacitive touch screen with 1280×800 pixels resolution allowing great movie playback experience. Both devices were built with front and rear cameras. Tablet 10.1 version has 3.0 megapixel rear camera while Tablet 10.1v has 8.0 megapixel rear camera, with LED flash and autofocus function. The reason for excluding the 8.0 megapixel camera to the latest one, nothing else but design.
Performance wise, both devices are Android based and run by Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor. Having the same specs, they are likely to give same output of work. Both allows user to do multitask and run various apps all at the same time.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v has been left out by the latest version only in terms of connectivity and ability to share files with other devices. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v connects via Wi-Fi and 3G only, but lacks microSD support and HDMI or DLNA port. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has DLNA support, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi ready, 3G connection, and a microSD slot for expandability of memory.

In terms of pricing, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v price has been set by Vodafone, the exclusive distributor of this device. According to Vodafone, Tablet fans can buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v as low as $259 up to as much as $729, varies according to plan service availed from Vodafone. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 price has not yet been finalized and Tablet users need to wait until June.
